RLC Fic Rec – All The Wild Horses and Wrenfield Hall
It was a stellar week for reading! I cannot even tell you how excited I am for the recs I’m bringing you today. Quality stories, the type that make you remember why it’s so hard to leave the fics!
First up is All The Wild Horses by elusivetwilight.
Author’s synopsis: In her suffocating small hometown, Bella Swan meets widowed Edward Cullen. Can she pull him from the depths of his grief? Is there enough of him left to soothe her clawing loneliness? ExB, WIP, Rated M
Oh the angst! The perfect build up! I love it! Bella just moved back home after being laid off from her big city job and is working in a small store. You can tell she is just exhausted from life dealing her several disappointments – work and love have not been kind to her. And now that she is back in Forks, Bella is forced to see the love of her life married and having babies with someone else. And then there is Edward. Sad, widowed, rancher Edward who comes in and out of Bella’s store and leaves her wanting more than just glimpses of him. The build up is so good. But when things start happening, get ready for the swooning! Edward is the perfect cowboy, quiet and perfectly respectable. He is not a happy man but he can’t resist the pull of our girl. Eventually things start happening between these two and it all makes for a great freaking story. Every time Edward calls her “darlin’ ” I just want to swoon and melt right off my chair! This story stayed with me for days. Always a mark of an excellent fic! All the regular cast of Twi characters are part of this story. Standouts are Renee and Charlie Swan, Bella’s parents. Charlie cautioning Edward on treating Bella well was one of my favorite parts. You can find this one HERE on FF.net
Next up is Wrenfield Hall by Wannabe Charlotte.
Author’s synopsis: In 1870s England, Bella finds herself without home or family when her father dies. She secures a position as a housemaid in a country manor belonging to Lord Edward Masen. The two form a bond that is threatened by class differences and Edward’s past. ExB, WIP, Rated T
I know what many of you will say. Rated T?! WTF!! I was 2 chapters in when I noticed the rating on this story. I didn’t think such a thing existed. But you don’t even miss the lemons, people. All I can say is trust me! This is a great story, period. The plot is great, the pacing is perfect, the historical references, characterizations. All stellar! And the UST!! Omagad, that is off the freaking charts! After all these two have a huge attraction to one another but Lordward won’t ever take advantage of his lady before it is proper. The level on which these two care for one another is completely different. Lord Edward is ready to give it all up, if it means he can marry lowly housemaid Bella instead of Tanya. But due to social and financial restrictions, he can’t. The plot twists and turns in this one are awesome. I won’t give out spoilers here, but you will be thoroughly entertained and swept off your feet by this fic. I wanted to get on Twitter and shout about this one but I save all my shouting for the blog 
Also, Anyone who is a fan of Jane Eyre will enjoy this story. I’m sure it is intentional too, just look at the writers pen name. This one is also found HERE on FF.net.

These fics sound great but in my experience, it is best to wait for a fic to be completed before deciding to read it. Unfortunately, writers of fanfics take hiatus, lose interest in their stories and let them fizzle to an end, or just stop writing them altogether. It doesnt always happen but it happens enough to make me wait for a fic to be completed before reading it. I hope they finish these fics soon and they live up to the buildup. I have been reading fanfics for over five years and have fallen in love with several Twilight fics so I hope these two can someday be added to my favorites.
Oh well… I just finished Wrenfield Hall and now I’m totally obsessed!! GAH!
