RLC Fic Rec – A Pound of Flesh
I’m so excited about this weeks rec! Who’d have thought Prisonward could be so hot! I present to you, A Pound of Flesh written by jaxon22.
Authors synopsis: To pay a debt she owes her father, Isabella Swan starts a new job as a prison tutor. Edward Cullen, with his own debts, is the Punk Ass inmate in her class. Can they fight the odds and their dangerous attaction to learn from each other?
The first time I read the synopsis for this story, I kept picturing Bella wearing a floor length dress with braids in her hair and a shy disposition, and Badassward seducing her from behind bars. I couldn’t have been more wrong. He’s still behind bars, but we have a feisty, independent Bella, still being seduced by Edward. The story takes place in NYC, and Bella and Edward are clearly ruled by ghosts from their pasts, debts they feel they must pay. Edward’s incredibly angry and bullies everyone who tries to help him through his time in prison but Bella (as his Englist Lit tutor) does a great job standing up to him. Angsty for sure, but it makes for a great, original fic. These two are crazy attracted to each other and it’s awkward in the beginning. Edward is in prison for fricks sake! But it works. The UST is through the roof! It’s all incredibly hot and there’s more to this story than has yet to be revealed. Jake and Edward are best friends in this one and I love reading their scenes together. Nessie even makes it into this one, though as Aro’s daughter. I’m having a great time reading this. The story is well written and POVs change all the time, and from all the characters in the story, not just Edward and Bella’s. I think the writer does a nice job balancing these. Check this out, I think it’s up to any fic fan’s alley!
