I Am A Hater!!!

I recently realized that I am a hater – but not the kind that you think.  I am a hater of all the animosity, catty dramz, and, well…hate that I see almost daily from the torch & pitchfork crowd on Twitter and various blogs.   I’m not going to discuss the sites that openly promote the hate, because they are not worthy of my time or yours.  Running a site is a lot of work, so why anyone would devote time and effort for the express purpose of shitting on someone they don’t know is beyond my level of comprehension.  But what really boggles my mind are the sites that front as “fan” sites while at the same time inciting the drama, jealousy, & hate.

There are some “fan” sites that claim to love, adore, and respect Rob, yet these same sites make inflammatory posts about his girlfriend.  Their members then let loose in the comments with a barrage of bullets so filled with fire that I’m actually embarrassed while reading them.  How is that respecting Rob, exactly?  It’s more like throwing a grenade into a hornet’s nest!  If you  love and respect him like you claim, why put a target on the woman he loves?

There are also Stew-loving “fan” sites that are similar in nature.  They admire her work, her attitude, her legs, and her butt.  However,  they ship her with everyone she is associated with except her boyfriend.  This makes zero sense to me.  If you are a fan, and you have love and respect for her, why wouldn’t you hope that she is happy with the man she is currently in a relationship with? Just as an FYI, StuStew, GarrettStew, DakotaStew, and EddieStew do not exist in any romantic fashion.

Twitter is an often ridiculous circle of drama that at times spins faster than a carousel on speed!  The antagonism and hostility are so rampant that some days I wonder if it’s even worth being a part of this fandom anymore.  When I see peeps spreading false rumors or posting photoshopped pix just to get a rise out of factions they consider “dumb” and “delusional,” I think: who has time for that shit?!  I have a life outside of this fondness I have for Rob & Kristen.  For me, this is just fun stuff.  I am here for the love, people!  Can you feel me?

You’re not fooling anyone with your snark, back-handed compliments and innuendo.  We comprehend English just fine, thanks.  What you’re doing is obvious and transparent, not to mention petty and immature.  If you are a Rob fan and don’t enjoy the Stew, why not just focus the discussion on Rob and leave Kristen out of it?  And vice-versa. Loving Stew is a beautiful thing.  Why spoil it by bashing her boyfriend?

Here’s a newsflash: Rob will never be your boyfriend.  He won’t break up with Stew just because you hate her or think she’s a lesbian, a bitch, or a tranny.  Clearly he doesn’t agree with those assessments and does not give a crap what you think.  I’m pretty sure that he would consider hating on his girl to be disrespectful at the very least.  The same goes for Kristen.  She will not switch teams and become a lesbian so you can be her girlfriend.  Nor will she break-up with Rob because you think he’s gay, a drunk, or a womanizer.  I can’t imagine that she would be too thrilled about Rob’s good name being dragged through the mud by her so-called “fans”.

Be a fan of whomever you like; whatever floats your boat is cool with me.  But keep the hate to yourself, would ya?  It shouldn’t have a place in this, or any, fandom.

Very well said. This might be the best thing I’ve ever read on this blog.

Most of the time I just cannot handle this fandom. I stay on the outskirts b/c I find so much of it petty and high schoolish in the way some people not only treat Kristen and Rob, but each other.

Applause, applause!! Thank you HEA, this really needed to be said and you did so splendidly!

Wow. A reasonable, respectful discussion. Too bad it’s not about being reasonable or respectful for so many people, it’s a strange and kind of primal pack mentality thing that twists emotions into ugly words. Add that to the anonymity of the internet, you get the worst of cyber-bullying and the meanness of the highschool queen bee scene. Somehow the haters don’t realize the ugliness is a mirror of their souls.

For people to spend THAT much time on typing hate comments and such, it shows that R&K are doing something right. People hating on R&K or R or K, hate on them because they have actually made it and are successful talented actors worth their time, whether it be worth their time in a good way like Robsten Love or worth those people’s time in a weird..fucked up way.

*standing ovation* Very well said. I see the craziness on twitter and I just stay quite because it is just craziness. In the grand scheme of things, it means nothing. These people want to feel important so they do things to gain attention (whether negative or positive). So I agree with you, the best is to not give them your time. Thanks for remaining a positive blog to visit.

Well said! Too often I have to just sit back and watch the insanity. I really don’t want to dip my toe in the water of lies and hate. There’s usually a part of me that says ignore the haters and they’ll go away or at least won’t have nearly as much effect on the rest of the fandom. They crave attention after all. But then I remember that if you let hate go unchecked it can turn into hell, as we see all around us these days. I’m all about the Rob and Kris love. And if they ever break up I’ll still be about the Rob and Kris love. Just not at the same time. ;) They are really extraordinary young people and they make me proud to be a fan of theirs. Some of the fans, not so much.

You’ve said it perfectly, HEA. As Fifty would say, fair points, well made. :)

why put a target on the woman he loves?

why put a target on the woman he loves?

why put a target on the woman he loves?

It is a coat that I repeat often …

I agree with “rldestef” This might be the best thing I’ve ever read on this blog.

Wow, what a wonderful post. What you say is so true. Thank you.

You did a spledid job on posting this! I am a fan of R/K myself, and I will admit I visit some sites that will raise my eyebrow(not in a nice way). And after that, I know what kind of fans they are(onesided only, and no room for love at all). Its just so bothering to know that this kind of dislike occur, and the disgusting parts of it is the name calling!!!(Its like were back to ice age again, and we never evolve at all!). I have a twitter account too, but I follow the one with no bird poop on it*wink*. Sometimes I am a namby-pamby person about it, but when its really out of control(and its start to seep on my skin) I just turn-off all the negative about R/K and go read a kinky book, lol!(or re-read MOTU again). RLC is zero tolerant on this “Hater” stuff. And I love that if I, me, and myself get a little affected on it(the lie and hate) and you want to respond to that crap. They give me a good warning to get my gearing back again together(a much needed reminder). I am getting good at it now, the eyerolling if I know its a bunch of bullcrap and I don’t comment to it at all. I admire that RLC are doing excellent job on running this site to be a REAL RobstenLove community, and we the members are willing to obey the rules*Twirling in Robsten heaven*. I love your post HEA!!!

  14. chonga September 21 2010 @ 2:40 pm

Awesome post bb! It’s amazing how many people will focus on hate. So sad.

  15. Breezy27 September 21 2010 @ 3:38 pm

Totally agree. People that spend so much time on hate are sad, pathetic people. They claim to “love” Rob or Kristen. If you really love someone, you are happy when they are happy. You wish them nothing but the best in whatever life choices they make and whomever they chose to be with. And the old saying should be enforced: “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”

  16. Sus September 21 2010 @ 4:47 pm

Thank you, thank you for writing this. Some people, who are jealous, or have no other lives, like nothing more than to bring people down to their level.

First of all, what Rob and Kris do or have in private is none of our damn business! I am sick of all the innuendos and negativity associated with their relationship (if there even is one, and I believe there IS!). Their private lives are their own, and although, being fans, we would like to be in them, we aren’t. We have to go by their appearances.

I think Rob and Kristen are extremely well suited. They are both in similar situations in their careers, they are both young and talented, and seem intellectually on an even par.

So, if we are fans of Rob and/or Kristen (or both), I say we give them our positive support, and love them both!

    JMHO, Sus

  20. Nekol September 22 2010 @ 10:44 am

Perfect. Great post. We need more positive posts like this one!

  21. Savannah September 23 2010 @ 12:39 pm

    great post :)
So true, twitter can be ridiculously dramatic sometimes and most often facepalm or headdesk worthy.

Anyone else find it halarious how in the “To the Left” pic Kris is pointing to the right? ;)
(if’ve just realised that’s only from this angle)

    Re: Marie

The fact of the matter is I think you protest too much. Rob and Kristen are not the first celebrity couple that people have paid attention to nor will they be the last. It is ABSURED to think so.

If you want to get very militant how does his personality have anything to do with his work? You don’t honestly believe that a 5 minute interview or a 3 page article means you know anything about him?

If you want to just focus on Rob’s work than I would assume that while you are admiring his beauty you don’t look at any pap pictures. Or fan pictures that are not on red carpets b/c that his time away from work.

Also I would assume you don’t read any article that discusses his time with his friends b/c again that is his personal life. See Kristen is not the only part of his life that you don’t really have a right to know about it also includes Tom, Marcus, his sisters, etc. So again I assume you don’t read anything to do with them.

I say go for it though ignore his personal life. But be respectful and the problem is that you can go to many websites that are not devouted to his personal life that are anything but respectful to Kristen or Rob.

To me this is all or nothing. You can lecture about RESPECTING Rob and just focusing on his work, but you can’t pick and choose which parts of his personal life you ignore.

    Re: Zoe

My original comment has disappeared – deleted? No idea.
You have clearly and, quite probably misunderstood what I posted. If the post was still there. I’d happily talk you through it and explain it again as I’ve come to realise that a large percentage of Robstens have issues with understanding other people viewpoints.

Hey ho, whatever. It’s so tiresome trying to reason with crazy. I’ll nip off and continue doing something useful like actually living my life. You should try it.
