Dumped By A LiveJournal Community
Dear Without Warning,It’s a shame that you had to cut so many people in such a irrational surprising way. Like you said in your YOU’VE BEEN CUT announcement, most of us are completely innocent of whatever the hell happened over at IMDB. Everyone knows that place is a cesspool of nonsense, rivaled only by the comments section at Ted’s. So to hastily cut most of your membership in hopes of catching ONE member who is spreading shit there seems like overkill to me. Not to mention being completely insulting to those of us who have nothing to do with the dramz.
Your community was really fun & informative in the beginning. Then with all the directives about how many posts I was required to have, who I had to know, what I should be donating and to whom – it became kinda tacky. Don’t get me wrong; y’all had some great pix, and I really loved the drabbles and one-shots. But fangirling is my fun; it’s my escape. So when I have to live-up to someone else’s unreasonable expectations of participation, that’s when the fun ends.
So don’t worry about re-adding me if/when you decide to do that. I enjoyed the time that I spent in your community. I certainly don’t feel like I was appreciated as a member when I can be cut without any warning at all, but whatevs. It’s your community, and thus your call. I am the Head Mod at the largest Rob & Stew fansite on the web, so I’ll be just fine. It’s a great site; you should totally check it out! Oh … but I almost forgot, you cringe at the use of the word “Robsten”, so our little site with almost 4,000 members probably wouldn’t interest you much. Oh well, kthxbai.

Hi, as the head mod of that community, I want to reiterate what we said four times in our cut post: 90% of the community was cut, because we did not know who the one — and we did know it was one — guilty party was, but now that we have their name thanks to a good samaritan, every other person is more than welcome to rejoin.
The number of posts required to join is not exclusive, nor started, by our community, and has been in effect since the comm started a year ago. Our sister community is still the largest R/K source on LiveJournal, so we certainly have enjoyed and appreciated your membership, and everyone else who is a member here at Robstenlove.com, for the last year, and we do/did look forward to more membership now that it IS open again and we are inviting back all deleted members.
Every member who was deleted, except the one who posted our private contact information — including the physical address of a MINOR — onto the IMDB boards is being invited back, as I type this, by my co-mods. We have reiterated easily 25+ times on our twitter account as well that there was NOTHING personal in being cut, for anyone, and if you ever felt unappreciated, you are/were more than welcome to let us know either privately in a PM or via our Page-A-Mod post, which is what it exists for.
And yes, IMDB is a cesspool. That is why we are legitimately terrified because someone posted our last names, e-mail addresses, personal blogs and twitters all over the internet — not just LJ, and exactly how to find our 14-year-old friend. I was the one who made the decision to have a mass member cut, and I knew it would anger people. That is why I VERY CAREFULLY detailed, many, many times in the post AND twitter, that it is NOT personal against anyone and that if you are not the person who spread our information out — which you, HappilyEverAfter, are not — you are MORE THAN WELCOME BACK.
So thank you for being “irrational” and “immature” as a response to our, I thought, fairly legitimate fear in this cyber attack, and for failing to acknowledge that over 100+ members have already been reinvited and accepted as members into the community.
Just putting that out there so that your new members can ALSO see the truth.
We have only love for RobstenLove.com, so really, this is just kind of the shit icing on the shit cake of what happened. Thank you.

Additionally, we never demanded any kind of donations anywhere or to whom or whatever you’re trying to say — the *two* CHARITY auctions that Without Drowning has participated in are nowhere near as rigid as the rules of Fandom Gives Back, and nowhere near as expectant of your donations. No money has ever been taken in by Without Drowning for anything relating to the community, nor have we ever asked. It is a completely non-profit fansite in every way. We have also never made “knowing” anyone a requirement; I don’t even know what you’re referencing there.
I so can relate to this blog today. I agree, not only is it frustrating and insulting but a bit hurtful as well to be dropped from a community or group with no explanation -especially when you have no reason to be. It’s kind of like getting a ‘Dear John’ letter with a ‘sorry..it’s just the way it is – buh bye’. It happened to me too awhile back. You’re right, you don’t need that community anyway. You have the biggest Robsten fansite out there.

I’ll start by saying that both of these places (Robstenlove.com and Without Drowning) are safe havens for me in this fandom and I love both of these places.
It’s unfortunate that the member cut in WD happened, but while I understand HEA’s distress over the matter, I also have to agree with Hayley that theirs was a legitimate concern over their personal security and something had to be done to find out who the person(s) leaking those kind of information about them was/were.
The truth and “right” is always in the middle and I genuinely believe that while it is the Robstenlove MODs right to post on their blog whatever they want, they should also consider the fact that they are persons that form opinions in the fandom. Right about now, there must be a lot of people reading this post, that have no idea what happened, have no idea what WD stands for and STILL will consider them the “bad guys” even though in this particular situation WD is a victim more so than the members being cut(and then re-invited) from the community.
I don’t want to upset you HEA, but I can’t say I totally agree with your stand. The same goes for Hayley and the other WD mods…they were genuinely scared and repulsed by not only the outright lies spread about them and their community but their personal information being shared by someone inside the community they work to manage but that being said, having the person in the community for a few more hours or days while gathering more information in order to find out who they are wouldn’t have been more damaging than it already was…Also, I am not sure if this cut was effective or not anyway…let’s hope it was, for all of our sakes.

I don’t understand why anyone would want to belong to a community where one of the mods (Haley) actively ships Kristen with Tom and or Tom/Rob and Kristen. She is not a fan of either of them. Your better off staying away from that community and the mods. The lies they claim to be true are all made up. They have no sources. They know nothing yet claim to know everything because of their ability to facebook stalk. They are also lying about what happened on imbd. No email addresses were posted. No personal info was shared. They lied. Nothing was deleted on IMBD. I was there and watched the thread unfold.They created this drama because they were called out on all the BS they spew.
Please think for yourselves for once and stop blindly following these idiots.

To address the “the physical address of a minor was given out on imdb” contention: this is UNTRUE! I was following the imdb thread as it unfolded over the course of several hours (yeah, sue me, I’m unemployed right now and at loose ends) and no address, name, NOTHING was ever given out–hence, there was nothing to delete. I don’t know why Hayley is blatantly lying about this (to justify the community’s actions perhaps?), but that is what is going on. Just ‘man up’ and admit you overreacted. Lying only makes you look bad.
I don’t know what they are talking about either. But, Robstenlove.com is the only place I’m a member. RL.com, RL blog is the awesomeness of Robert P. and Kristen S. loveliness and the Admin&Mods are the Fifthyness of discipline(they in force the law*wink*), and WE(sub/members)… are willingly enter in the red room of Robsten. um . . . yeah. I don’t really get what happened here, but I was on that imdb thread, too (and pretty much every thread on any subsidiary topic- okay, so I’m obsessed!) and never saw anything at all like what this MOD person is saying. Where was this personal info supposedly leaked? Names and addresses? Not on imdb, I know that much. I don’t want to assume people are out right lying, so maybe it was somewhere else? But it’s weird to say it was on imdb, when it wasn’t.
But if personal info WASN’T leaked, then why did they cut so many people, and then make up a reason so easily disproved? I don’t get it. Oh well, just crazy LJ dama, I guess. LOL.

I blocked tnpnetwork on twitter ages ago. I find that person snotty and elitist. LJ is where the real bullshit drama is in this fandom. At least the imdb crazy is transparent for all to see.

This is what I don’t get. Anyone can go read the thread. It’s all public. If an admin had deleted a post, it would say as much in the deleted post.
I don’t live at IMDB but I got curious and read the whole effing thing (and then got a root canal to cheer myself up) and NO personal information or admin interference is anywhere to be found.
1) The personal info was removed after 1-2 hours by IMDB’s legal team after we all contacted them. It was definitely there, because several of us got e-mails directly to the listed private addresses with the URL of the post attached.
2) I do ship R/K, as I’ve said 4502505020250000 times, I don’t even know why I’m bothering to address that.
3) If you don’t want to join the community, which has always been both well-respected and is the most active R/K + Friends community on LiveJournal: then don’t. It’s not a requirement for your life. I’m not telling you that you have to be a member, but I am saying that this post was far more immature than our cut.
If you think we’re lying about anything — content of the community, content of our lives, content of the posts, whatever — that’s your prerogative.
The bottom line is, we know at the end of the day that
a) we’re telling the truth,
b) the members who do have aren’t bitches who are more interested in popularity than in celebrating R/K,
c) that our members can actually read explanations for things like cuts or alt+shipping, and
d) that we’re safe in OUR OWN COMMUNITY. Even if the cut had just been a random purge, that would have been our prerogative, too, just as HEA and Chonga could suddenly delete a part of RL without warning — it’s THEIR site. WD and the sister communities are OUR sites, and *we* need to be able to feel safe in them, above all else.
A part of fandom isn’t trying to be a member every single place that involves the celebrity you like, it’s being a member with the other fans who think and feel the same way you do, and honestly, if the member cut bothers you that much or the attitudes of the WD members bothers you that much, then why would you want to be a member in the first place? Be a member the places where you’re happy. Ours are.

I’m sorry, this is blatantly untrue. Let me repeat: I was on that thread the entire time the other day. At NO TIME, not even for 10 minutes, were there any names or addresses posted.

I have no idea of what all the drama with IMDB was all about so this was an interesting post to read. From what I could extrapolate, it was drama I’m happy to not have read about at all. I’m going to stay on the positive and just say I’m so happy to be a part of the Robstenlove community. I like how it focuses on the positive mutual love we have for Robsten and not the negative drama shit that other sites seem to have.
I love RobstenLove and HEA but I find this a tasteless and unclassy post. So they had drama in their community and people didn’t have access to their community for a day or two. Yeah it was a bit of an inconvience but so what?
With all the nonstens, crazies, and haters this is what you are focusing on? A fellow com that loves Rob and Kristen. Robsten, R/K, K/R, KPattz, the sparkly one, the fierce one…whatever. The people behind the terms are still the same.

^^^^Exactly. Which is why there are crazies from there trying to defend it here. Plus they are attacking WD for not being pro- Rob and Kristen. Which is laughable and crazy.

Don’t blame all LJ communities for what WD did. Just because their mods are on a power trip, deosn’t mean all mods are like that. And WERK and kstewartlife are NOT elitist in the least. They don’t want drama so they keep their members to the minimum, that’s all there is to it.
@SW It would be nice if communities behind Robsten could present a unified front, but that just doesn’t happen in real life. People have different agendas, and don’t necessarily get along all the time. Just because you ship/fan/love Rob/Kristen/Robsten doesn’t automatically mean there’s a greater community there that stands or falls together. This isn’t like some sort of war against the crazies and/or nonstens we’re talking about with battle plans and generals.

HEA is a blog contributor here, and she was a member at that community. She had an emotional reaction to what happened and wrote a blog post about it. The epitome of blogging, really.
Forgive me in advance for the length of this post, but it had to be done.
I kept track of the whole imdb controversy & all that followed on WD & various other LJ comms and I have to say that it’s incredibly gratifying to see that other people see WD for what it really is. It is in NO WAY an RK comm. I’ve been quietly lurking on that comm since the beginning & I dare say that in comparison to Tom, Eddie, someone named Henry somethingorother, etc., etc., Robert & Kristen have the LEAST amount of posts devoted to them. And while – yes, there is RK RPF, there is also plenty of fic with Rob and Kristen paired up with different people. When I joined the comm, I did so under the false impression that it was predominantly an RK comm, which also featured the other members of the Brit Pack.
It’s actually the other way around. Every other post is about members of the Brit Pack. Many of whom I couldn’t care less about. Plus, I have no interest in reading fic where Kristen sleeps with Tom, or Eddie, or everyone BUT Rob. I have no interest in reading fic where Rob sleeps with Tom, or Marcus, or Bobby, & so forth & so on. And even though I don’t READ the offensive fic – it’s kind of hard to avoid the ridiculous photoshopped pics of the aforementioned ridiculous pairings. It’s offensive to me as an RK fan. But then when I realized the “slogan” of their comm is “See you later Rob, I’m off to have sex with your friends!” – I shouldn’t be surprised.
Let me reiterate: “See you later Rob, I’m off to have sex with your friends!”
Really? REALLY??? You’re going to shout all over the place that you’re an RK comm, but have THAT as your comm’s slogan? And yeah, it can be argued that it says in the description of the comm that it’s a “Brit Pack & Friends” community. Fine, then the mods shouldn’t go around proclaiming it to be the most active “RK” comm online. They shouldn’t trick people into joining WD by posting their teaser for their RK gossip post on ASE, instructing people to join WD if they want access to it (said gossip, btw, just being random crap found online. No inside info AT ALL).
And for goodness sake – why on earth can’t the mods use a damned LJ cut on their posts? It’s rude & inconsiderate & further illustrates how the WD mods care little about the members of their comm. From very early on – it’s been obvious that the mods are all about letting people believe that they have inside info on RK & their friends. They like to speak in code in posts, excluding much of the rest of the comm. They’re truly the most obnoxious of online personas – the self-proclaimed “leaders” who cyber-bully the members of their comm in their standard passive-aggressive way. They’re not obvious about it. But there’s no question. They’re bullies.
And what’s more – their supposed info? Is all a bunch of LIES. The number of inaccurate pieces of info on RK that the mods of WD try to pass off as true is laughable. Now they’re lying about attacks on 14 year old members? Which, btw, why the hell does a 14 year old have a membership to a comm which posts NC-17 material anyway?
To the WD mods – you never know who is watching your comm. I highly recommend you stop with the lies.

Like some others on here I am relieved that I dont know the extent of this drama but I will say that Haley, whoever you are, why do you care so much about what we all think. Go back to your site and do your thing if you really are as innocent as you say. There are obviously some issues over on your site that you should be worried about instead of posting continuously on this site to try to plead your case.
HEA has every right to post on her blog about the issue so you will just have to suck it up and deal with that. You cut members, that is going to piss anyone off, especially innocent people since you knew who the one person was. That is the consequence. You piss off people by cutting them for no reason and they are going to voice their frustrations. You just so happened to piss off another mod so while others dont have the resources to post about such things, HEA did and I for one think it is great that she did. You can plead your case all you want but it seems that several people just on this site alone agree with HEA. You cut 90% of your members just for ONE person and you know who it was….yea that’s really mature and logical.
PS: I love Robsten and I dont know if this site is the largest or what….I really couldnt care less if it isnt because it is still the only one I go to for Robsten stuff and I tell all my members over at the site I help run to come here for good Robsten info. As for your site….I have no clue about it and never heard of it. Neither WERK or kstewartlife should be associated with what is going on here. You are dragging their names into the mud. Both of those communities are in existence for fans who APPRECIATE and RESPECT Robert and Kristen, unlike the false information that is spewed or insinuated in the WD community. The reason for the exclusivity is not to keep “sensitive gossip”(not that any of these communities CLAIMED they had any), but to keep trolls out.
What I don’t understand is how cutting members at WD to get rid of someone who’s leaking info and then reinvite the others is ANY DIFFERENT from the post at robstenlove that says “your access may be removed”.
One happend with short/no-notice – the other is announced. the action is the same. It’s about keeping the haters, the nonstens and the ones giving out info out and make it a safe place.
Why can’t you all see that we’re having the same problem but fighting it differently? is that so wrong? In the end we have the same goal. Ship in peace, love RK and keep the haters out of it!! Why all the fucking drama? I really don’t get it! If you don’t like what’s posted over at WD then stay out of it. WD never claimed to be a RK community. First and foremost they are a community about Rob and his friends and they support RK.
*smirks* the difference between what WD did and what we did with a very small, private section of our site (that doesn’t belong to us, but is a service we provide to one of our members, and THAT member decides who has access to it) is that 99.99% of our community is open to the public, and we would never restrict access to it unless you are in violation of our rules…and only then after warnings.

i try to follow as many factions of the rk community as possible because i like to be aware of what’s going on, but i have no horse in this race. i have never been a member of WD nor have i been a member of the delaney/rosesee/twirling camp. that being said, i am loving this post and the tumblr post by drowninit. tnp was trying to insinuate that the tumblr was photoshopped to mislead people. please. they need to own up to their failure as an r/k comm and move on.
hayley, if you’re still on here – i understand your need to find a safe haven to post on LJ. i would want a safe haven too if i was going to be posting and/or supporting posts about disgusting assertions of physical abuse. i’m sorry that some of your former members that have consciences ruined that for you. truly.

Yeah. I replied on the page-a-mod after being cut. I thought I was pretty respectful, just pointing out how insulting it was to be cut from a community because of the mod’s personal drama (which turns out was a lie anyway?! Sheesh). I was called an a**hole and told I wouldn’t be invited back when they started accepting members again.
This was before I knew that they were all a bunch of liars. I was there for the fic and the info on the brit pack. I didn’t really notice the rest.
Thanks to HEA and the mods at other communities who spoke out on this. Strangely enough, the ridiculousness at WD has actually introduced me to some nice, sane people.
