It’s On Like Donkey Kong
Oh look, C2R is writing another blog post, she must be pissed-off about something. Seems like the only time I write anything these days is when I have a bone to pick, I know. I’m going to have to work on that. I’m not an angry, bitter, shrew I swear. But I do have a bug up my ass, and that bug is comprised of the people in this fandom who seem to think there is some kind of epic battle raging between the different “factions” and that we all should take sides. I’ve got two words: Fuck and That.
As you may have noticed, and as we’ve tried to make clear ad nauseam; we’re a fan site for both Rob and Kristen. Equally. Together AND separately. So the recent increase in Robcats giving us shit for covering “too much Stew” and Krisbians whining about “too much Rob” is ridiculously fucking annoying. We’re quite satisfied with our mixture of Rob, Kristen, Robsten, Twilight, and Fanfic. If you’re not I’d like to direct you to the untold number of sites devoted specifically to either one. We affiliate with a few of them. To be blunt, and perhaps a little bit rude: we could give two shits about living up to anyone else’s standards. Furthermore, it’s not like we control what information is floating around the media at any given time. Sometimes Rob is in the news, and sometimes Kristen is in the news, and sometimes they’re in the news at the same time! That’s what happens when you’re interested in two separate actors with very different careers. But if you wanna keep a running tally on how much we talk about either one of them, knock yourselves out. You can even send us these lists if you want. However, if you do I must insist on my preferred brand of paper.
Another real annoyance would be the HARDCORES that like to believe that Rob & Stew didn’t exist before they found each other, and that they should now be attached at the pancreas at all times. HARDCORES instantly drop into their hunting crouches whenever anyone posts a story about Kristen from ancient times, circa 1 b.hhh. (1-year before his-holy-hotness, aka 2007); and woe betide anyone who posts a picture of Rob standing next to an unknown pair of tits. And the unknown pair of tits will of course be investigated until we know: her name, occupation, marital status, connection to Rob, potential interest in Rob, and what she eats for breakfast. While the rest of us coo in the threads over any hot, new solo pics that may arise, the HARDCORES will be heard lamenting about missing the other half of the duo, and how “it’s too bad they couldn’t be together.” *facedesk*
Then there are some of the other sites in the fandom. I’m not going to name any names or anything, but some of these people bring words like activism and hypocrisy to a whole new level. We’ve got the wanna-be “Mean Girls” crowd wagging their smug fingers in your face, telling you how to be a fan and doing their best West Beverly High impersonation. Then you’ve got the sites who will mobilize their followers at a moment’s notice, torches & pitchforks in hand, to vanquish their “enemies” after determining that they or their reason for existing has been slighted in some way. JHC. Can’t we all just get along? Aren’t the internets big enough for all of us?
Get a grip. Count to 10. Take deep breaths. Visualize yourselves not acting like douches. It’s possible to belong to this fandom and be normal at the same time, I swear. You can find hundreds of people who belong to this rare and special breed at our forum. Sure, we have our HARDCORES too, but we have a pretty stringent rule-set, and nunchuk wielding moderators to enforce it. Thank god for that. Because without our place, I wouldn’t have lasted six months in this fandom.

one thing that i loved about this site is how it gave space to both artists, and even more than just Robsten. the site deals with nonstens and fanfics, and for me this means that it isnt just a place where hardcore robsteners go to sigh their hearts out whenever one is without the other. this site is definitely more than that: it is somewhere that people with common interests more than rob and stew can go and share what they think, and as the rules said, in coherent, not just ^^ responses. this blog is so spot on, and i cant love you more for that, C. and i just hope that we can all just get along. and if it aint possible, i agree that the internet's big enough for us to have our own spaces and avoid mindless, senseless factions or shiz. kudos to you, C2R.

Awesome post Cee! My thoughts exactly! I have been questioning some of the fandom's IQ lately..but who am i to judge..lol. I am just glad I found RLC, and have met some of the normal people in the fandom. I thank the admin and Mods for that..cause without them..it would be just another site that bashes and ridicules the other side. I love Rob (God do I love him..lol) and I love Kris. I love them together..and I love them separate. I love that they make each other happy…and i love that they don't fit the Hollywood stereotype. I too am sick of all the fighting back and forth…wish we could all grow up and just be happy they are happy…how ever they choose that to be!

Before I started tweeting, I never knew all this craziness about Ron Ans Kris existed. I just loved Twilight and these two actors. Cute together, cute apart, thanks for keeping perspective and welcoming the "normals"

I’ve been reading the blog and forum for a few months now. I enjoy coming here because the moderators really keep it a sane and wonderful place to visit. It counterbalances the negativity out there. It also allows me to change my sometimes narrow view of thinking. From time-to-time, I have not so positive views on subjects similar to some posters, but then the moderators or other posters make valid points to the contrary, and I learn, and become more wise and understanding. Hopefully, other people like me, that come here, would also listen and stop being so judgmental.

And the whole warpath going on in the "Rob and Kris" are of TwiTown trying to make up fantasties of themselves with Rob. GET A LIFE PEOPLE. Those Robsessed are out of control. And, I can tell you right now why the "Team Jacob and Team Edward" stuff is dumb. BECAUSE THEY'RE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!!!!!! The only similar thing between them is that they are just trying to be good people. You can't compare Jacob to Edward, it just doesn't work. Edward's been around for over one-hundred years so he knows a lot of crap. And Jacob is awesome and fun and reckless, but COMPLETELY naive. He can LEARN from Edward..that's what Twilight is hinting at. And..uhh…HELLOOO…are we forgetting about RENESMEE!!!??! lol. That's Twilight, though. BUt the same principals apply. Just in general, making teams in this TwiUniverse is probably the most dumbest thing that anyone ever thought of doing. Because now it's out of control and it doesn't even feel right. It's good to see that someone is actually still normal. Thanks for posting this, i really like you. And this blog. Totallly sane.

Did someone say normal? Is there such a thing in this fandom? LOL Thanks for posting this. It makes sense so I couldn't quite comprehend it at first but once it sank in I fell down on my knees in gratitude. Do you know how hard it is to find common sense around these parts? Too many nuts out there for comfort. I guess I'll have to start hanging out here more often. Great post. Now if only people would listen.

At times, when I am surfing twitter, I am aghast at some of the comments I read and am left wondering if the parents of those particular writers even know if the little ones are out of bed, much less on computers/cell phones.
I adore the Twilight saga… I have learned much about the cast and have developed a love of the two leads. Both are fine actors at the beginning of their careers and I am following with avid interest, just because I want to watch them succeed.
What I have also learned is that both Rob and Kristen seem to make each other happy and that is gold!
In this often shallow world and especially the 'Hollywood' lifestyle world… true friends with lasting qualities are not so 'in evidence' and I heart these two young folk who seem to be so level and down to earth and just want to be known for their art.
Kudos to them for who they are!

You fuckin' rock. If I wasn't so happy on my Memorial Day cocktails I would write something more profound and articulate but right now I can't. I love this site because of the principles of everything you have said here. I've never understood why people can't follow the rules and go pursue their bullshit some other place and leave the sane people alone. Thank you guys for everything you do and for striving to keep being a fan exactly that – 1 : an enthusiastic devotee (as of a sport or a performing art) usually as a spectator
2 : an ardent admirer or enthusiast (as of a celebrity or a pursuit). That's the dictionary definition people. There are no words for the fucking bullshit that goes on here and this is from a casual observer – someone who is just trying to pass the time engaging in something to support two people whole facinate. Ugh. Thanks, CR2, for trying to keep it sane and for always keeping it real. It's very much appreciated.
