Bromance vs Romance: Know the difference!
An interview surfaced this past weekend where TomStu, when asked about Rob, responds: “we’ve been friends and more for what feels like our whole lives.”
Two words: AND MORE. They had this fandom in a gay-rumor-tizzy. *facepalm* Well, I have a one word response: Bromance. That’s all this is folks…
Bromance: a close but non-sexual relationship between two (or more) men. Coined in the 1990′s, the term has typically referred to a relationship between heterosexuals.
Rob & Tom grew-up together. My guess is that Tom meant that they are closer than just friends, like family having known each other their whole lives.
I have a friend like that, don’t you? We have been friends since we were toddlers. I tell her everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. We have no filter. We’ve laughed, cried, hugged, kissed, fought, danced, sang, yadda yadda yadda. But I’m a woman so people are not as quick to call me gay when I talk about how close we are. Damn those double standards!
I suppose if I were famous & you asked her about our relaysh, she may say something similar to what Tom said about Rob. Because we have been more than friends, more like sisters. Kinda like Rob & Tom, as close as brothers. Instead, what Tom said will fuel the gay rumors & people will read way too much into it. Whatevs. Anyone that’s ever had a really close friend would understand what he meant.
Speaking of close friends, Rob & Kristen are that AND MORE… and I mean that in the most romantic way possible. Romance: a pleasurable feeling of excitement and wonder associated with love. That’s what I get when I see Rob & Stew together, don’t you?

HEA…awesome post. I have a bestie that i have been friends with since i was 5. We are like sisters…we kiss, hug, we say i love you to each other…I honestly think Rob and Tom are like brothers. Rob does not have any brothers..so Tom has taken on that role for him. I hate all the gay/bi rumors..they are so ridiculous…And it is sad that Gossip cop had to address this as well. There totally is a double standard..when there shouldn't be. Thanks for addressing this…another fantastic post!
I love Rob and Tom together! I mean, it's big that you still get to keep your best friend in this crazy Hollywood world. And not just Tom all of his friends! And Kristens fits in the Pack!

But it's true the fandom has had gay rumors for a while now. How sad is it that some people can't accept true friendship between 2 guys, did they never have real close friends? I think the real reason for them to start these rumors (when it's more than obvious Rob's dating Kristen) is that they want him with anyone but Kristen.
I love the bromance between tom and rob. Like I totally love all the britpack close friendship and how they support each other. And of course, love how Kristen seems to perfectly fit in
Awesome post! It is a shame most people are so dirty minded they turned Tom's innocent comment into something other than that. Incredible two men cannot be close. Almost how some guys refuse to sit next to one another in the movie theater. Tom and Rob are secure enough in themselves they have no problem with admitting to being emotionally attached to one another. Love the bromance, and the romance even more

Truth is, there are lots of people extremely close minded. Sad reality.
Not that it wouldn't be completely horrible if that is what he meant but come on, one picture and you see how close they are. I've had close friends but never one of those great friendships from years and years.
I do get that warm fuzzy feeling when I see Rob/Kristen though.
