She Runs With Volturi
I’m totally Team Volturi. Before you laugh, read on: I have excellent reasons.
Main Sticking point: Yeah, yeah, yeah – I know they feast on humans instead of animals like the beloved Cullens, but seriously – tell me you don’t know of at least ONE person you wouldn’t like to “gift” to a red-eyed vampire. Annoying co-worker? Check. Dude that cut you off turning left from the far right lane while breezily flipping you off for honking? Uh huh. If we all chipped in, gifting the Volturi could solve a lot of problems. More jobs would open up, traffic would flow more freely, and fewer humans would go hungry. I could go on, but that’s not my point here. Just sayin’. (Give it some thought anyway.)
Second fact: If you weren’t already invested in Edward and Bella, and their fuzzy-wuzzy, star-crossed love story loveliness, you would see that the Volturi have a valid point. No one is supposed to KNOW about vampires, and Bella does. She IS a liability to their kind. Of course we know she would never tell; cuz she wuvs her vegetarians and wants to romp all over any existing meadow or bed she can find with Edward. But the Volturi don’t know this for sure and have every right to be alarmed about the situation. Hells yeah. I would be too. No little human girl would be taking my pretty clothes, bad-assed jewelry(I NEEDs that necklace they wear. It’s on my Xmas list – hint hint), all the money in the world, amazingly beautiful castle on a hill in Italy,and thousand-year-old way of life away from ME. Not. Gonna. Happen. Thankyouverymuch.
Thirdly: If we’ve learned anything from the Cullens, we’ve learned that vampires feel and are consumed by love. Don’t the Volturi big cheeses all have mates? Yes, as a matter of fact they do: Sulpicia, Athenadora, and Didyme (Didyme, sadly, is no longer with us but that’s another good story.) Aro, Marcus, and Caius (like all men) wouldn’t just settle down without a DAMNED good reason. So I firmly believe it was for love. But that part of their story isn’t told is it? All we see is them being bad-asses. Try something for me: just imagine if you will, the Volturi going home after a hard day’s work at the castle, or coming home from a long trip tracking or doling out vamp justice, running into the arms of a mate delirious with joy to see her man again. After a long embrace and many kisses, hard-working vampire showers and changes into some jeans and a button down, kicks back on the couch with his girl, snuggles up and delivers presents he’s gotten her from his travels. Maybe she’ll bring him a glass of fresh AB positive to sip on, maybe they don’t make it to the bedroom before ripping each other’s clothes off and having ferociously hot, welcome-home-baby sex. Maybe, maybe, maybe….
Are you seeing my point? Are you getting a different perspective of our red-eyed friends now? They’ve got fascinating histories, lives, and loves far beyond hassling Edward and Bella. Think of the stories they could tell, the places they’ve been, the cultures they’ve known, and all the incredible things we could learn from them if only we’d listen. From a safe distance and after they’ve fed, of course.
Let me add to this and say: Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Who doesn’t want the bad boy? The boy with a very dangerous and sexy edge to him? You lie if you say no. Yes. YOU. You like Edward cuz he struggles to be good? My motor gets running – top speed – because Felix (Yeah, all of you on the Forum know of my love for Felix. *laughs*) doesn’t. He is who he is and doesn’t care what you think. Besides being huge and ridiculously strong, he has no powers. Yet he is someone that Aro keeps very close and gives important work to. This tells me that boyfriend is trustworthy as hell, smart, and very good at his job. He and Demetri probably hang out on weekends, hunting, partying and chasing women together. I have no doubt if you’re friends of theirs they treat you with respect and involve you in their fun. And of course are smokin’ hot in the process.
I’m guessing red-eyes have their own set of vampire morals and traditions they adhere to amongst themselves. Remember, the Cullens and their cohorts are a very small group that disbanded from the rest of the vampires as a whole, and I for one refuse to believe that there’s not a happy society amongst the other vampires. They couldn’t have existed for eons without killing each other off by now without that. I like to think of them as enjoying their unlives to the fullest, having fun with more money than God, buying hot cars and motorcycles, taking trips all over the world, and making friends as they go.

What got me thinking about the “other white meat”? My love of Daniel Cudmore and Charlie Bewley. What got me addicted? Discovering @Felix_Guard on Twitter, following his storylines, adding some of the people he co-exists with (@IrishCovenLiam, @volturi_corin,@demetri_guard, @LeahTheWolf – she’s pregnant!) on Future of Twilight Saga. I've loved Felix since New Moon. I nearly died when the dibs line wasn't in the movies, as wasn't when he winks at Gianna. I'm not a big fan of Jake, so he really redeemed it for me ^^

Love this post, Ever! Team Volturi runs a close 2nd to Team Edward for me so I totally get it. There's something very hot about the mysterious, powerful vamps! Like you said, who doesn't love a bad boy?! YUMZ!

Totally with you Ever! I only wish steph meyer had more volturi in eclipse/bd. I would love to read a Volturi spin off or even a prequel of sorts w/ carlisle in the volturi. Aro is a rockstar! I absolutely loved Charlie Bewley in the Volturi scenes, with just his few lines he totally rocked his part! What a great actor! (And so cute!) I also love Jamie Campbell Bower and thought his lines were very well delivered, I just wish they had utilized him a little more. He is also a very talented actor & should never be underutilized! Marcus was extremely weird & I laugh every time he speaks. It's almost like he's partially frozen or something!! lol So creepy it's funny! The volturi scenes were some of my favorites in the entire movie! The fight scene was awesome!
