A Non-TwiHard View on Robsten Love

A Message From C2R: It’s always interesting to have a different perspective, and as my husband is a great writer I thought it was an awesome idea to get him to write some stuff for our blog from a dude’s perspective, who isn’t a Twilight fan.  Be kind to him! And maybe I can get him to write for us more! <3

A few weeks ago, my wife and I were passing through the ubiquitous tabloid section of the grocery store checkout-library of chocolate, gum and trash. A single disgusted sigh told me, as a good husband who is very alert to these subtle signs, that something was afoot.

She was motivated to turn the front issue of both racks of OK! magazine around to display their backpage ads, and effectively block the rest of the issues in the stand from virgin eyes. I understood immediately, as another good husband skill I have is listening, and she was quite vociferous about the headlines they contained that week, when the cover was leaked over these here fine interwebs.

Now, some of you might expect me to break into a rant at this point, but on the contrary. Lesser men might be intimidated by Mr. Pattinson’s brooding charm and icy gaze that is undoubtedly inspecting my very soul. Shit, he might be a member of MY freebie five on the right day. But I am no lesser man, and let’s be honest: Ms. Stewart being the strong balance in the shot, makes Robsten an easy interest to admire for most dudes. To be fair, you do have to know that I am not a Twilight fan (thus my Handle: Not A Unicorn (NAU).

If I am forced to give a reason, it would be what many might consider elitist or traditionalist: that I prefer my vampires with a weakness for the sun and wooden stakes. But, I have nothing but a growing appreciation for the story arc, as bits and pieces of it filter down through my wife’s passioniate admiration for the Twilight Universe. I love how much joy the books, movies and this community brings C2R; as the grandfatherly saying goes: a happy wife makes for a happy life.

Thanks Robsten Love, stay awesome!

We ALL ENVY YOU….If only most husbands would understand just even half of what your's does. I don't expect mine to read the book's, drool over Rob's pictures (god I hope NOT), or even do half of the "Crazy Stuff" that I do with ALL my Twi-Tweeters. But to support me just a little would make me "Happy", ok maybe that's asking to much, how about content! That's a good word…content! Instead I get teased, laughed at, and my kids' call me a "Freak". There friends call me a "Freak" and they don't even defend me! I laugh with them when they tell me, but deep down inside it kills me…it hurts alot but I would never let them know that! That would be way to personal into my World of Twilight and it's the only Cherishable (is that a word) thing I have to myself… So take what you have, even if it's just a little spark and hold on it!!

Aw! You're so lucky to have him! I love this post, haha.
It's great that he gets it, what we all are so obsessed about and not think we're a bunch of crazy ladies (+chant) or whatever (as a lot of peeps are)
And I think it's awesome how he respects this (Robsten) because he knows how much it means to you :)

    Way to go, Mr C2R!
    Xx

Dear Nau, you might not be a unicorn, but you are a dazzling creature. Your lovely wife is, indeed, a very lucky lady. Thank you for the beautiful post. I really hope to see more in the future.

Loves it! He sums up how my hubby feels too. He thinks its cute I have a hobby. He loves comics, I love twilight. It works. He should do it again when the movie comes out and write a review.

I'm pretty sure he won't see the movie until it comes out on Blu Ray lol So a little late for a review. But I know he'll like it, but he may not say that HAH

Yeah NAU!! Smart guy you are! My husband has still never seen Twilight or any other movie Rob has been in (He has seen KStew in Adventureland though) but he doesn't mind my obsession at all. So here's to all the great husbands out there!! <3 you NAU!

Oh Cee and Mr. Cee, I loved that post! Yes, if only all the hubs were as understanding and supportive as Mr. Cee. It seems as though it could and should be a package deal for couples…Rob for the wives and Kristen for the husbands. Everybody wins! And of course, most only the wives get mushy over the love part…that's only to be expected. But, Mr. Cee should have a screen name and log into forum and talk with us like Chant does. I do wish we had more guys to talk to, but we are good with Chant if he doesn't want to join…or Cee wants that separate. haha More guest posts from him here would be a great idea!

And btw, Mr. Cee, ignore anything Cee may have told you about me. cough

    Love ya, Cee! <3

    <3,

Awww, what a precious post! Mr. Cee/NAU/CU (closeted unicorn), we appreciate your post and the lending of your wife for countless hours so we can waste many, many hours discussing every facet of the Twilight community/Robsten relationship. Seriously, we love her, thanks.

    Also, write more. Thanks again.

And you can believe everything Cee has said about me, I know I'm her favorite.
