It’s NOT You!!! It’s Me!!!

We’ve recently acquired our own blog, yet we’re still avid followers of other Rob, Sten, and Twilight-ish sites as well. Rarely a day goes by where I’m not drooling at Random Acts of Rob, checkin’ out new/old rares at Spunk-Ransom, or giggling at Twitarded or TwilightHeaded.

However, the time has come for us to have a serious discussion about our relationship you guys. My love for you has not lessened at all. In fact, I’m having a real hard time resisting you and therein lies the problem: New Moon comes out in exactly 22 days!!!

We’re not sure what the deal is lately with the almost daily barrage of New Moon stills & video spoilers. We have a couple of theories:

1. Summit Entertainment is owned and operated by morons who cannot seem to grasp that most people do not want to see the entire movie before it even hits theaters.

2. Ninjas. Ninjas hired by powerful Hollywood insiders who are outraged by the Twilight Saga’s media dominance as of late, and are determined to spoil TwiHards so thoroughly they’ll only go to see New Moon 1-5 times in the theater instead of the 10-25 times they had originally planned. Thus financially crippling the movie into only making a billion dollars instead of the two billion originally forecast.

Most of us on staff here at Robsten Love are the rare breed of fan who want to pay their $8.00 on November 20th and actually be surprised by what we see on the screen. Not everyone feels that way, and this includes many of our own members. Although to protect the un-spoiled amongst us our lovely Ever has graciously managed to keep the spoilers contained and sequestered in the New Moon Thread.

Which brings me back to my original point: while we can keep our own house in order we have no control over the houses of our lovers. Make no mistake: we love and understand you. We are not at all upset by your pimping out the break-up scene, the kiss, Edward’s fight with the Volturi, or Bella bitch-slapping wolves. For many of you keeping the internet apprised of all Twi-news is your raison d’être. However, we want to protect ourselves and our virgin New Moon eyes.

So while it causes me deep pain in the very pit of my black soul: we need a cooling off period. I will not be visiting any more Twi-Related websites until after I’ve seen New Moon (unless of course someone assures me ahead-of-time that the post in question contains no spoilers.) This is NOT me breaking-up with you! I’m attending a pre-screening of New Moon on November 19th so after that our relationship will be back ON like DONKEY KONG! Don’t forget about our love! I’ll miss you!

You are much stronger than I am! I can never resist spoilers. I don't even bother trying anymore. *sigh*

Still, I try hard not to tweet about the details as much as I can hold it in. ;-) I totally understand wanting to wait for the "real thing".

summit are a very strange creature – leak em and pull em is not a good marketing strategy. i'm with you though. i'm not watching any bloody more.

It just doesn't make sense to me to read the script, see every still and all leaked footage before the movie hits the theaters. Don't anyone want to be surprised?? I do! Great post :)

Great post! You are a strong one. I am torn about this, teasers for me is like Bella's blood to my Edward. I just hope Summit do listen. I don't wanna see a sparkly (god forbid) Edward before Nov20…
