I can’t believe this day has come. Ever since Chonga and I began this internet fandom adventure the forum has always been our focus. Our community. Maintaining a fun and safe place where we could get our fangirl(boi) on without too many hysterical and insane people around. We also have a fondness for our little blog, but the time has come to restructure some things. Chonga and I are insanely busy. I with a new and extremely challenging job, and Chonga with twice the workload she had before. So we must pay what attention we can where we can afford it. The forum is more important, so that we will keep and the blog we must retire.
Our forum celebrated it’s 2nd Anniversary on June 28th. I can’t believe it’s been two years since I sent Chonga an email asking, “Hey you want to start our own place?” Since then I’ve bonded with not only Chonga, but our entire staff and some members in ways that are stronger than the bonds I share with most of the people I know in real life. It pains me severely to tell you that Chonga is stepping down as an Administrator and Co-Owner of RLC. No, there was no fights or drama (ever), she just doesn’t have the time to devote to the little tasks that go along with owning an online community. She’ll still be making our graphics, and doing the upcoming FanFic Reading groups we’ll be having, and fangirling out with us in gchats and on the forum. This mostly affects me. We started this journey together and I was hoping we could finish it that way. But I understand, and love you bb and as sad and lonely as it feels right now we’ll get through it.
The rest of the staff have some other funny and or emotional things to say, so I will let them have at it. I wish I had something epic or really memorable I could write here in our final post, but honestly I think I’m a little depressed. I’m not one of those fortunate motherfuckers who can really crank out the art when I’m being an emo bitch. For all those who followed us here at the blog over the last year and a half or so thank you so much for your support. To those who acted like psycho hosebeasts: you’ll have to find somewhere else to totally miss the fucking point. To those who made comments that were longer than the blog posts themselves: WTF?!
It’s been a real slice. We’ll still sometimes be doing “blog-like” posts when something major is going on, or we’re really inspired. But they’ll be on the forum as Global Announcements and you can find them on the portal. See you on the forum! And come win a prize at our Pic Off this weekend!
